ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Must be a male student enrolled and in good standing in Senior year at a high school located in Hampton Roads, Virginia

Minimum grade point average of 2.5 on 4.0 scale

Three (3) Positive Letters of Recommendation as follows:

1 from high school teacher (Letter 1)

1 from a high school counselor (Letter 2)

1 from a character reference (Letter 3)

Note: References from family members are not permitted

Submit your senior picture of equivalent (at least 300dpi resolution)

Submit a minimum 250 word essay

Submission of ALL academic transcripts from most recent high school must be included in the packet.

Must be accepted to attend accredited four-year institution of higher learning. Acceptance letter must be uploaded

Additional scholarships will be awarded based on the following criteria: The Dr. Frank & Quincy Guns Scholarship, as well as the the CLP Financial Group Inc. Scholarship, will be awarded specifically to young men attending Norfolk State University in the Fall of 2023.

All applicants are required to submit a minimum 250 word response to the following question in the box below: "Identify one disparity that exist in the Hampton Roads community and describe what solution can be developed to help resolve this problem. Explain how the faith based community can assist with eliminating this disparity over the next 3-5 years."
